Tarbosaurus

Japanese: タルボサウルス

A bipedal carnivorous dinosaur from the Late Cretaceous Period. It belongs to the theropoda suborder of the Saurischian order of the diapsid subclass of the reptile class. It is similar in size to Tyrannosaurus, with a total length of 10-12m and a height of 4.5-5m. Its head is large, long and tall from front to back. It has thin, sharp teeth growing on both the front and back. There are four teeth on the premaxilla, 12 on the maxilla, and 15 on the dentary. Its forelimbs are extremely small, and it is unclear what function they served. Its hindlimbs are well-developed, powerful, and tripodal. It lived mainly in the Gobi Desert of Mongolia.

白亜紀後期にいた二足歩行の肉食性恐竜。爬虫綱双弓亜綱竜盤目の獣脚亜目Theropodaに属する。大きさはティランノサウルスに近く，全長10～12m，高さ4.5～5mほどである。頭は大きく，前後に長く，高い。前後に薄く鋭い歯が生えている。その数は前顎骨に4本，上顎骨に12本，歯骨に15本である。前肢は極度に小さく，どのような役をはたしたのかわからない。後肢はよく発達し強力で，三趾（さんし）性。モンゴルのゴビ砂漠を中心に生活していた。
