Kanbe Sadanaga

...Also called Isemachi Magistrate, Isegundai, Ise Yamadamachi Magistrate, etc. Yamada in Ise Province developed as a temple town of Ise Jingu in the Middle Ages, but Toyotomi Hideyoshi made it a direct territory and appointed Kanbe Sadanaga, who served the shrine, as magistrate to govern it. The Edo Shogunate also placed it under its direct control, and in 1603 (Keicho 8), appointed Nagano Tomohide, who is said to have been a branch of the Kitabatake clan or a townsman from Ise Shirako, as magistrate.
