A general overview of public law in a broad sense, including Western criminal law. Translated by Tsuda Masamichi. Published in 1868 (Meiji 1). 4 volumes. Tsuda traveled to the Netherlands with Nishi Amane as a student of the shogunate, and received private instruction from Professor S. Vissering of Leiden University from 1863 to 1865. This book is a translation of the "national law" portion of those lectures by order of the shogunate, and was published by the shogunate's Kaiseisho. It is a concise, concise overview of the political and administrative systems as a whole, and the translation is accurate. It went through many reprints and was widely read even after the establishment of the new Meiji government. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
