Japanese: 赤井川[村] - あかいがわ

A village in Yoichi District, Hokkaido. With an inland climate, the temperature difference between day and night is large in summer, and agriculture producing fruit and vegetables is thriving. It is also known for its heavy snowfall in winter, and in the east there is a large resort facility called Kiroro Snow World, which is centered around a ski resort. In 2008, the Kabadate Tunnel was opened between the village and Kutchan Town, which borders the village to the south, and National Route 393, which runs from Otaru to Kutchan, passes through the village. Mt. Yoichi, located on the eastern edge of the village on the border with Sapporo City, is an easy hiking course near Sapporo. 280.09 ^km2 . 1,262 people (2010).

北海道余市郡にある村。内陸型の気候で夏場は昼夜の温度差が大きく，果菜類を産する農業が盛ん。冬場は多雪地としても知られ，東部にはスキー場を核とした大規模リゾート施設〈キロロスノーワールド〉がある。2008年，南側に接する倶知安町との間に樺立トンネルが開通，小樽から倶知安への国道393号が村内を貫通している。村東端，札幌市との境にある余市岳は，札幌近郊の手軽なハイキングコースである。280.09km²。1262人（2010）。
