Born on November 13, 1873. Studied at Tokyo Senmon Gakko (now Waseda University) and worked for a raw silk trading company in Yokohama. After leaving the company, he moved to Osaka and became a founding member of the Kansai Senryu Society in 1909. At the recommendation of Sakai Kuraki, he compiled Senryu Edo Sunako, which classified and interpreted old senryu. He passed away on February 3, 1928, at the age of 56.
