Landscaping plants - Zoenshokubutsu

Japanese: 造園植物 - ぞうえんしょくぶつ
Landscaping plants - Zoenshokubutsu
This refers to plants that are planted in areas close to daily life, such as homes, urban gardens, parks, and streets, and are used for landscaping, ornamental purposes, decoration, environmental conservation, recreation, and even practical purposes (windbreaks, fire protection, screening, boundary markers, etc.). They are classified according to the place where they are planted, such as garden plants, park plants, roadside trees, and hedge trees (see the Hedges entry). The following conditions are considered to make them suitable for use as landscaping plants: in terms of shape, they are well-formed, tasteful, have beautiful flowers, fruits, or leaves, and have distinctive features; in terms of nature, they are robust, adaptable to the environment, can withstand particularly adverse environments, and have strong germination and rooting properties.
