A fossil human from the Middle Pleistocene period discovered in 1965 in a limestone quarry about 50 km west of Budapest, Hungary. Also known as Beltesselos Man. Early Paleolithic pebble tools from the Buda culture and remains of a fire-using hearth were also discovered here, and it is thought to be the site of an activity from the Mindel glacial period about 400,000 years ago. There are two fossil human bones; No. 1 is a child's tooth, and No. 2 is the occipital bone of an adult male. The bones are much thicker than those of modern humans, but the size and degree of curvature are closer to modern humans, and the cranial cavity volume is estimated to be 1400 cc.

ハンガリーのブダペスト市の西約50kmにある石灰岩採掘場で，1965年に発見された洪積世中期の化石人類。ベルテッセレシュ人ともいう。ブダ文化と呼ばれる前期旧石器時代の礫器と，火を使った炉の跡もいっしょに発見されており，約40万年前のミンデル氷期の生活址と考えられている。人骨化石は2体分あり，1号は子どもの歯であるが，2号は成人男性の後頭骨である。現代人に比べて骨はかなり厚いが，大きさと湾曲の程度は現代人に近く，頭蓋腔容積は1400ccと推定されている。
