An old town in Nishiuwa District, in the center of the Sadamisaki Peninsula in western Ehime Prefecture. Mitsuke, in the center of the town facing the Iyo Nada Sea, was once a wind-waiting port and one of the bases for the Choshu Expedition at the end of the Edo period. It was once known as the home of Misaki beef, and a regular calf market was held in Ooku, but it has now declined. Citrus fruits are also cultivated. National Route 197 runs through the town. In April 2005, it was incorporated into Misaki Town and Ikata Town in Nishiuwa District. 32.09 km2 . 2,648 people (2003).

A former town in Akaiwa District, southeastern Okayama Prefecture. It occupies the Yoshii River and Sunagawa River basins. The main settlement, Seto, developed as a station settlement on the Sanyo Main Line. Peaches, grapes, and vegetables are cultivated, and food processing is also popular. Many people commute to Okayama City. In Mantomi, there is a historic site of a kiln where tiles were fired for the reconstruction of Todaiji Temple. In January 2007, it was incorporated into Okayama City along with Takebe Town, Mitsu District. 41.78 km2 . Population: 14,900 (2005).

愛媛県西部,佐田岬半島の中部の西宇和郡の旧町。伊予灘に面する中心の三机(みつくえ)は古くは風待港で,幕末の長州征伐の一拠点であった。かつては三崎牛の本場として知られ,大久(おおく)では子牛の定期市が開かれたが現在は衰微。柑橘(かんきつ)類の栽培も行う。国道197号線が通じる。2005年4月西宇和郡三崎町と伊方町へ編入。32.09km2。2648人(2003)。

岡山県南東部,赤磐(あかいわ)郡の旧町。吉井川と砂川の流域を占める。主集落瀬戸は山陽本線の駅前集落として発達。モモ,ブドウ,野菜の栽培を行い,食品加工も盛ん。岡山市への通勤者が多い。万富(まんとみ)に東大寺再建のときの瓦を焼いた窯跡(史跡)がある。2007年1月,御津郡建部町と岡山市へ編入。41.78km2。1万4900人(2005)。
