…Just before the Battle of Sekigahara, there had been a short-term change of lords in Funai, Usuki, Kitsuki (Kitsuki), and other areas, and Hosokawa Tadaoki had acquired territory in Kunisaki and Hayami districts. In response to the Battle of Sekigahara, the former lord Otomo Yoshitsune, hoping to make a comeback, gathered his former retainers in the Battle of Ishigakibaru in Hayami district, but was defeated by the forces of Hosokawa and Kuroda, and others who had sided with the Western Army, such as Ota of Usuki, Kakei of Togi, Kumagai of Aki, and Hayakawa of Funai, were stripped of their territories. After the Battle of Sekigahara, Takenaka entered Funai, Inaba Sadamichi entered Usuki, Mori entered Saeki in Kaifu district, Kinoshita Nobutoshi entered Hiji in Hayami district, and Kurushima Nagachika entered Mori in Kusu district. …
