Stony-iron meteorite

Meteorites made of nickel-iron and silicate minerals include pallasites, which are made up of olivine crystals scattered in the nickel-iron with the corners of the crystals touching each other, and mesosiderites, which have less nickel-iron than pallasites and have a texture similar to achondrite with nickel-iron dispersed (called howardite). ニッケル鉄とケイ酸塩鉱物からなる隕石。カンラン石の結晶がすみを接する形でニッケル鉄中に散らばっているパラサイト，パラサイトよりニッケル鉄の量が少なく，エコンドライトにニッケル鉄が分散したような組織（ホワルダイトという）をもつメソシデライトなどがある。
