Japanese: 頭光 - つむりのひかる

1754-1796 A kyoka poet from the mid to late Edo period.
Born in the fourth year of the Horeki era. He studied ukiyo-e under Ippitsusai Buncho when he was young. He became a disciple of Ota Nanpo and became one of the four great masters of Tenmei Kyoka poetry. He passed away on April 12th in the eighth year of the Kansei era. He was 43 years old. He was from Edo. His family name was Kishi. His given name was Shikiyuki. He was commonly known as Uemon. His other names included Soyoan and Hatantei (2nd generation). His artist name was Ippitsusai Bunsho. His works include Uji no Hanazono.

宝暦4年生まれ。若いころ一筆斎文調に浮世絵をまなぶ。大田南畝(なんぽ)に入門し,天明狂歌の四天王のひとり。寛政8年4月12日死去。43歳。江戸出身。姓は岸。名は識之。通称は宇右衛門。別号に桑楊庵,巴人亭(2代)など。画号は一筆斎文笑。著作に「菟道園(うじのはなぞの)」など。
