Seguidilla - Seguidilla (English spelling) Spanish

Japanese: セギディーリャ - せぎでぃーりゃ（英語表記）seguidilla スペイン語

A typical Spanish folk dance. It originated in La Mancha, but has spread to other parts of the country, such as the Andalusian Sevillanas. It has a unique rhythm in 3/4 time, somewhat similar to the polonaise, and is passionately performed with vocals, guitar, castanets, etc. The bolero also derived from this dance. It was widely taken up by Spanish composers such as Albéniz, and other countries' composers also used this rhythm to create a Spanish atmosphere, such as Bizet's Carmen.

スペインの代表的な民俗舞踊。ラ･マンチャが本場とされるが各地に普及し，たとえばアンダルシアのセビリャーナスsevillanasもその一型。3/4拍子でポロネーズにやや似た独特な律動をもち，歌，ギター，カスタネットなどにより情熱的に演唱される。ボレロもこの舞曲から派生した。アルベニスほかスペインの作曲家によってさかんに取り上げられたほか，ビゼーの《カルメン》を好例として，他国の作曲家もスペインの気分を出すためにこのリズムを用いた。
