A Kansai Shinpa theater troupe active around 1900. Founded in 1896 (Meiji 29) at the Kadoza in Dotonbori, Osaka by Kitamura Rokuro, Akizuki Keitaro (1871-1916), Takada Minoru, Saori Keiichiro and others. Although well-received and successful, the troupe disbanded in 1898 (First Period). In 1900, it was revived at the Asahiza in Dotonbori with Kitamura and Akizuki at the core. Calling itself the "New Theatre Alliance," it brought together former members as well as other major Shinpa actors, and lasted for about 10 years during the so-called "Asahiza period" (Second Period).
