Japanese: 登由宇気神 - とゆうけのかみ

The name of a god in Japanese mythology. The deity worshipped at the Outer Shrine of Ise Jingu (Toyuke Daijingu). Also known as Toyoukehime. Toyo (Yu) is a title of praise, and Uke or Ke means food, meaning that this god is a food god (Uka no Mitama) who serves Amaterasu Ookami of the Inner Shrine. A legend about its origin can be found in the Toyukemiya Ritual Book, which was compiled during the Heian period. During the reign of Emperor Yūryaku, Amaterasu gave a divine oracle, requesting that Toyuke no Okami, who was residing at Manai in Hiji, Tanba Province, be made the god of food, and so he was moved to that place.

日本神話にみえる神の名。伊勢神宮外宮(豊受（とゆけ）大神宮)の祭神。豊宇気毘売（とようけびめ）神とも。トヨ(ユ)は美称，ウケもしくはケは食物の意，すなわちこの神は内宮の天照大神（あまてらすおおかみ）に仕える食物神(倉稲魂（うかのみたま）)である。平安期に成立した《止由気宮儀式帳》に縁起譚がみえる。雄略朝にアマテラスが神託を下し，丹波国比治の真奈井に座すトユウケノ大神を御饌都（みけつ）神として欲したため遷座させたという。
