A general term for laws concerning the control and trading of property in a society premised on a private property system. Capitalist societies produce goods in pursuit of profits, based on the principles of inviolability of property rights and freedom of contract. Property law aims to protect and facilitate such capitalist economic activity. Specifically, the main law includes the real property law and obligation law of the civil code, and commercial code. A term that is the opposite of family law (status law).
