Psychology that studies sexual behavior. Sexual behavior consists of innate and learned behavior, and the expression of these behaviors depends on a combination of internal and external factors such as hormones, brain mechanisms, and learned or unlearned environmental stimuli. Sexual psychology is therefore an academic field that studies how sexual behavior is acquired, how the above factors relate to sexual behavior, and the relative importance of each.
