Stained glass

Stained glass
This is a type of glass made by cutting colorful glass into various sizes, fitting them into a lead frame, and welding them together. It is also called picture glass. The lead frame forms the black outline of the design, and it expresses decorative or religious themes. Stained glass, which is set into a window frame, has a long history, and it is thought that the technique came from the Orient region along the Mediterranean coast, where glass had been produced since ancient times. It is also known that stained glass was used in Europe as early as the 1st century, based on fragments excavated in Pompeii, Herculaneum, Alesia, Strasbourg, and Trier.
