Seidan [town] - Seidan
An old town in Mihara District, Hyogo Prefecture, occupying the southwestern part of Awaji Island. The Honshu-Shikoku Bridge Highway passes through the town. The main settlement is Minato. In the lowlands along the Mihara River, onions, dairy farming, and rice are cultivated, while roofing tiles are produced in the mountains. It is close to the Naruto Strait and is home to Keino Matsubara (a scenic spot). In January 2005, it merged with Midori Town, Mihara Town, and Minami Awaji Town in Mihara District to become a city, Minami Awaji City. 55.97 km2 . Population: 12,480 (2003).

兵庫県三原郡,淡路島の南西部を占める旧町。本州四国連絡道路が通じる。主集落は湊。三原川沿いの低地では特産タマネギの栽培,酪農,米作が行われ,山間部では瓦を産する。鳴門海峡に近く,慶野(けいの)松原(名勝)がある。2005年1月三原郡緑町,三原町,南淡町と合併し市制,南あわじ市となる。55.97km2。1万2480人(2003)。
