Turkish meter. A unique development of the Arab 'iqā', the rhythmic cycle is indicated by the contrasting sounds of two drums, the dum (low) and the tak (high). There are as many as 40 to 50 usurs, ranging from simple 2-, 3-, and 4-beat rhythms to 48- or 88-beat rhythms. There are also many asymmetrical rhythms, such as 5-, 7-, and 13-beat rhythms, and the 8-beat rhythms are subdivided into 3+2+3, and the 9-beat rhythms into 3+2+2+2 or 2+2+2+3.

トルコの拍節法。アラブのイーカーアが独特に発展したもので，デゥムdum（低音）とタクtak（高音）という対照的な二つの太鼓の音色で示されるリズム周期。ウスールの数は40から50にものぼり，２拍子，３拍子，４拍子などの単純なものから，48拍あるいは88拍を１周期とするものまである。また５拍子や７拍子，13拍子など非対称的なリズムが多く，８拍子も３＋２＋３に，９拍子も３＋２＋２＋２や２＋２＋２＋３に細分されたりする。
