Suma-to Genpei Azalea - Suma-to Genpei Azalea
Bunraku puppet theater. Historical piece. Five acts. A collaboration between Bunkodo and Hasegawa Senshi. First performed at the Osaka Takemotoza Theater on November 4, 1730 (Kyoho 15) (according to the banzuke). Based on the Tale of the Heike and The Genpei Rise and Fall of the Genpei, it is directly preceded by the Noh play Tadanori, Chikamatsu Monzaemon's Senzaishu (Senzaishu) (estimated author) from July 1686 (Jokyo 3), Satsuma no Kami Tadanori (Satsuma no Kami Tadanori) from early winter the same year, and Nembutsu Ojo-ki (Nenbutsu Ojo-ki) (estimated author, retitled Ohara Mondo, Ohara Mondo Aoba-fue, Suma-dera Aoba-fue) from 1688 (Genroku 1).

人形浄瑠璃。時代物。5段。文耕堂,長谷川千四の合作。1730年(享保15)11月4日(番付による)から大坂竹本座初演。《平家物語》《源平盛衰記》を題材としながら,直接には,謡曲《忠度(ただのり)》,近松門左衛門作の1686年(貞享3)7月《千載集》(作者推定),同年初冬《薩摩守忠度》,88年(元禄1)《念仏往生記》(作者推定,改題本《大原問答》《大原問答青葉笛》《須磨寺青葉笛》)などを先行作とする。
