吹ﾀ - Suida (English spelling) chuī dǎ

Japanese: 吹打 - すいだ（英語表記）chuī dǎ

A type of folk instrumental ensemble in China. The main instruments are wind instruments such as the charumera, flute, pipe, and sheng, and percussion instruments such as several types of gongs, drums, cymbals, and castanets, with string instruments sometimes joining in but only as a secondary component. The melodies of theatrical music and folk tunes from around the country, played freely with the fingers and tongue, are fused with the rich tones and rhythms of a variety of large and small percussion instruments. The ensemble consists of 10 to over 100 people. Since there are many percussionists and their performances are quite noticeable, it is also called luogu or drum music.

中国の民間器楽合奏様式の一種。チャルメラ，横笛，管子（かんし），笙などの吹奏楽器と，数種の鑼（ら），太鼓，鈸（はつ）(シンバル)，板（はん）(カスタネット)などの打楽器が中心で，弦楽器もときに加わるが補助的である。各地の劇楽や民間小曲を指や舌を駆使して自由自在に吹奏される旋律に，大小多種の打楽器の豊富な音色とリズムが融合する。編成は10人から100余人。打楽器の奏者が多くその活躍が目だつので，鑼鼓，鼓楽などの呼称もある。
