L'Orchestre de la Suisse Romande (English: Swiss Romande Orchestra)

Japanese: スイス・ロマンド管弦楽団 - スイスロマンドかんげんがくだん(英語表記)L’Orchestre de la Suisse Romande
L'Orchestre de la Suisse Romande (English: Swiss Romande Orchestra)
The orchestra was founded in Geneva in 1918 by Ansermet. In 1938, it absorbed the Lausanne Radio Orchestra and continued to grow. Under Ansermet's guidance, the orchestra developed into a unique orchestra with a delicate and transparent sound quality. It also played an important historical role by actively performing 20th century music such as Stravinsky. After Ansermet's retirement in 1967, Sawallisch served as musical director from 1970 to 1977, and Horst Walter Stein (1928- ) served as musical director from 1978.
