Written by Chinese Ming Dynasty thinker Lu Kun (1536-1618). Lu Kun also wrote the Records of Political Affairs, and was a thinker well versed in the practicalities of politics. For this reason, in Groaning Words he refrains from talking specifically about metaphysics, but rather, based on his experiences and painful reflections in a dark society filled with political strife and chaos, he passionately explains the everyday knowledge of citizen life and how to live in the political arena. Perhaps for this reason, this book, along with Caigentan, was more widely read in Japan than in China. Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
