1541-1582 A military commander from the Sengoku to Oda-Toyotomi period.
Born in Tenbun 10. Son-in-law of Takeda Shingen and a senior vassal of the Takeda clan. In Tensho 3, he became the lord of Ejiri Castle in Suruga (Shizuoka Prefecture), but in 15 he submitted to Tokugawa Ieyasu just before the downfall of the Takeda clan. In the same year, he met with Oda Nobunaga, but was assassinated by rebels on June 2nd at Ujitawara in Yamashiro (Kyoto Prefecture) on his way home after the Honnoji Incident. He was 42 years old. His given name was Nobukuni. He was commonly known as Genba no Kami and Saemon no Daifu. His other name was Fuhaku.

天文(てんぶん)10年生まれ。武田信玄の娘婿で武田氏の重臣。天正(てんしょう)3年駿河(するが)(静岡県)江尻城主となるが,10年武田氏滅亡の直前に徳川家康にくだった。同年織田信長に謁見するが,本能寺の変にあって帰国の途中,6月2日山城(京都府)宇治田原で一揆(いっき)勢に殺害された。42歳。名は信君。通称は玄蕃頭,左衛門大夫。別号に不白。
