Spring Breeze Horse Bank Song - Shunpuubatei no Kyoku

Spring Breeze Horse Bank Song - Shunpuubatei no Kyoku

This is a haiku poem by Buson. It was published as a trilogy with "Denga no Uta" and "Rouji" in the "Yahanraku" (a collection of haiku distributed to disciples and friends in spring) in 1777 (An'ei 6). The journey of a gorgeous young woman from the Yodo River from Osaka, traveling up the banks of the Yodo River to her home where her mother and younger brother are waiting for her, is a masterpiece by a poet of nostalgia who was born and raised in Kema Village on the left bank. This "Eighteen Songs" begins with the opening verse "Yabuiri ya Naniwa desu te Nagara River" and ends with a verse by her friend Taigi. During this time, the composition of the Gafutai Chinese poetry form, the Chinese reading style, and miscellaneous poetry forms such as irregular phrases can be said to be an original epic series. Along with the lyric poem "Mourning the Old Immortal" (1745) from his youth, this is a noteworthy poetic work, and this piece from his later years was created with reference to the Gafutai series of poems "Eight poems of the Jiangnan Les (composed on behalf of my wife)" by Xu Zhenqing of the Ming Dynasty and "Twenty poems of Itako" by Hattori Nankaku.
