Twelve Seats Kagura - Jyuunizakagura

Twelve Seats Kagura - Jyuunizakagura
In Kagura music, one piece is counted as one performance, but Twelve Seats Kagura is the name given when twelve Kagura pieces are performed as a basic set. Most Kagura are of the Izumo school, and are also called Twelve Kagura or Twelve Number Kagura. Sada Shinnou in Shimane Prefecture also has 12 performances, but it is not specifically called Twelve Seats Kagura. As for the Sato Kagura of Edo, it is based on twelve performances, as described in Yamazaki Minari's Kairoku (1837): "The dances known as the twelve seats of Kagura that are used today are the Haji dances that originated about 150 years ago."
