... The court first reviews the petition submitted by the plaintiff, and decides whether to accept the lawsuit, and if so, whether it is a public matter or a financial matter. This is called a "meyasu tadashi," and the main subjects of the examination are jurisdiction, standing of the parties, and the "kujimei" (the title of the lawsuit that shows the content of the claim in a standardized form, such as "pawnbrokerage" or "creditor's debt"). At this stage, lawsuits that do not meet the requirements for filing a lawsuit, or lawsuits concerning specific credit relationships known as "nakamagoto," are deemed "unacceptable." After the meyasu tadashi, the plaintiff is required to submit a formal petition (main petition), and the petition is returned to the plaintiff with an endorsement (meyasu endorsement, meyasu uraban), which becomes a summons to the opposing party.
