Plain of Jars : A plain that spreads across central Laos. It is located in the northwest of the Annamite Mountains, near Phonsavan. It is 1,200 to 1,400 meters above sea level. There are hundreds of stone jars scattered here and there, dating from 500 BC to 800 AD. They are thought to have been used as sarcophagi, but this is not certain. Changning Plain.
