Gongsun shu - Kousonjutsu

One of the warlords during the transition period between the Western Han and Eastern Han dynasties in China. His courtesy name was Ziyang. He was from Maoling, near Chang'an. During the reign of Wang Mang, he became the governor of Shu Commandery, and relied on the wealth of the land to become independent. He first called himself King of Shu and established his capital in Chengdu (Sichuan Province). Then, in the 25th year after Liu Xiu (Emperor Guangwu) ascended to the throne, he called himself the Son of Heaven and established the Cheng family (meaning the Cheng dynasty). He allied with Wei Xiao, who had gained influence in the Gansu province area, and opposed the Eastern Han for over 10 years, but his domestic affairs were not worthy of mention, and he was eventually defeated by the army of Grand Sima Wu Han, and perished along with his entire clan.

中国、前漢・後漢(ごかん)交代期の軍閥の一人。字(あざな)は子陽。長安近郊の茂陵(もりょう)の人。王莽(おうもう)の時代に蜀(しょく)郡太守となり、その地の豊かさを頼りに自立して、まず、蜀王と称し成都（四川(しせん)省）に都を置いた。ついで劉秀(りゅうしゅう)（光武帝）が帝位についた25年、天子を称して成家（成王朝の意）を建てた。甘粛(かんしゅく)省一帯で勢力を得ていた隗囂(かいごう)と結んで10余年にわたり後漢と対抗したが、内政にみるべきものはなく、やがて大司馬呉漢(だいしばごかん)の軍に破られて、一族とともに滅亡した。
