A school in late Qing China. It was founded in Changsha in 1897 by Tan Sitong and Xiong Xiling, who were trying to promote the reform movement in Hunan Province, with Liang Qichao as head teacher. It incited the reform movement and clashed with conservative townsfolk. In the following year, Liang left for Shanghai due to illness, and as a result of the Wuxu Coup (→ Wuxu Reform), the teachers were dispersed, and in 1890, it was renamed Qishi Academy.
