A village in Yufutsu County in central Hokkaido. The Mukawa River runs through the village from east to west, and although there are a few scattered farmlands, most of the village is covered in forests. The JR Sekisho Line and the Doto Expressway run along the Mukawa River, while National Route 237 runs north to south and National Route 274 passes through the village in the south. Forestry and dairy farming are the village's main industries, but the Tomamu area has large resort facilities that attract tourists throughout the year. Akaiwa Seigankyo Gorge, which runs along the Mukawa River in the south, is known as a famous spot for viewing autumn leaves. 571.41 km2 . 1,394 people (2010). 北海道中央部,勇払郡の村。東から西へ鵡川が貫流し,わずかに農耕地が点在するが,村の大半は山林で占められる。鵡川に沿ってJR石勝線と道東自動車道が,南北に国道237号が通じ,南部を国道274号がかすめる。林業や酪農が基幹産業であるが,トマム地区には大規模なリゾート施設があり,四季を通じて観光客を集めている。南部の鵡川に沿う赤岩青巌峡は紅葉の名所として知られる。571.41km2。1394人(2010)。
