Japanese: 四分儀 - しぶんぎ
Quadrant
Also known as a quadrant. An astronomical instrument used to measure the altitude of celestial bodies. It has a quarter-circumference scale graduated from 0° to 90°, and a sighting ruler is attached to it, passing through the center of the circle. The quadrant used by Tycho Brahe had a radius of 3 m.
