In the entry for July 20, 1521, in the diary of Nakatomi Suketsuna, the chief priest of Kasuga Wakamiya Shrine, "Kasugashaji Suketsuna," it is written that the residents of Takabatake-go held an elegant event at the chief priest's residence at Wakamiya Shrine. The event was centered around three umbrella poles, and about 40 dancers, wearing short kimonos and loincloths, performed the "Satsuma Dance" and "Saigyo Sakura" dances. …　16世紀に入るころには奈良の盆の風流は踊りが中心になり，踊り堂を建てた記事も見える。春日若宮社の神主，中臣祐維（なかとみすけつな）の日記《春日社司祐維記》大永1年(1521)7月20日条には，高畠郷の住民が若宮の神主館（かんぬしやかた）に風流を掛けたことを記すが，そのときのようすは傘鉾（かさぼこ）3本を中心に，小袖を腰巻とした踊り衆40人ばかりが〈薩摩踊〉〈西行桜〉などを踊ったとある。ほかにも〈新発意（しんぼち）太鼓〉〈五位鷺〉の風流もあった。…
