Gimhae

A city in South Gyeongsang Province, bordering Busan Metropolitan City, South Korea. It has an area of ​​463.26 square kilometers and a population of 330,829 (2000). It was promoted to a city in 1981. In 1995, it was merged with Gimhae County. It was the center of the ancient Garak Kingdom, and is dotted with ancient tombs and shell mounds. It spreads across a wide plain in the lower reaches of the Nakdong River, and has a mild climate. It has long been a highly productive agricultural region, with suburban and far-flung agriculture as well as dairy farming.
