A representative collection of Indian tales that includes about 25 stories (the number of stories varies slightly depending on the version) within the framework of the adventures of King Trivikrama. The original title is Vetāla Panchavinshatika. Vetāla (宍鬼) is a demon that possesses human corpses and activates them. It is often mentioned in Buddhist scriptures, but in Shaivism it is considered one of Shiva's associates. In this book, the Vetāla tells the protagonist, the king, about 25 stories with riddles, and at the end of each story he asks the king a question, which the king answers.
