...Since then, the shape of the violin has not undergone any essential changes, except for minor details. Instruments made by A. Stradivari, GA Guarneri, and others in Cremona have maintained a high reputation as the best instruments to this day. From the 17th to the 18th century, violin making spread to various places, and in Italy, schools centered on cities such as Venice, Milan, Naples, and Bologna flourished, while Mirecourt in France and Mittenwald in Germany became centers of violin making. ...
