Xu Shuzheng

Japanese: 徐樹錚 - じょじゅそう

1880-1925 Chinese soldier.
Born on December 5th in the 6th year of the Guangxu era. Graduated from the Japanese Military Academy. After the Xinhai Revolution, he served as Deputy Chief of Army, Secretary General of the State Council, and Chief of Staff under the Anhui faction's Duan Qirui. He was active in Chinese politics with schemes and was defeated in the battle against the Zhili faction (the Anzhi War). He was shot to death by a subordinate of Feng Yuxiang on December 30th, 1925. He was 46 years old. He was from Anhui Province.

光緒(こうしょ)6年12月5日生まれ。日本の陸軍士官学校を卒業。辛亥(しんがい)革命後,安徽(あんき)派の段祺瑞(だん-きずい)のもとで陸軍次長,国務院秘書長,参謀長などを歴任。策謀をもって中国政界に暗躍し,直隷派との戦い(安直戦争)に敗れる。1925年12月30日馮玉祥(ふう-ぎょくしょう)の部下に銃殺された。46歳。安徽省出身。
