This was the name of one school during the time when Bunraku puppet theatre was split into two factions. In 1949, the formation of a labor union by Bunraku troupe members led to conflict between the union faction and the non-union faction, and the union faction left Shochiku as the Mitsuwa-kai. Those who remained with Shochiku were Toyotake Yamashiro Shojo, who was in the yagurashita position, along with the 4th Tsuruzawa Seiroku and Yoshida Bungoro, and called themselves the In-kai. They continued to perform at the Bunraku-za, but with the retirement and death of key members including Yamashiro Shojo, they fell into financial difficulties, and in 1963 Shochiku announced their abandonment, which became the catalyst for the two factions to merge and establish the Bunraku Association.
