〘名〙① 一里の三倍。約一一・七八キロメートル。※平家（１３Ｃ前）九「小野原より三里へだてて、三草の山の西の山口に陣をとる」② 灸穴(きゅうけつ)の名。ひざがしらの下で、外側の少しくぼんだ所。ここに灸をすえると足を丈夫にし、また、万病にきくといわれる。※徒然草（1331頃）一四八「四十以後の人、身に灸を加へて、三里をやかざれば、上気の事あり」③ ②にすえる灸。※浄瑠璃・新版歌祭文（お染久松）（1780）野崎村「コリャおみつよ、三里(さンリ)をすへてくれ」
