Sun Valley

Japanese: サン･バレー（英語表記）Sun Valley

A tourist resort in south-central Idaho, USA. It is located in the Sawtooth Mountains at an altitude of about 1,800 m. The Union Pacific Railroad built Sun Valley Lodge in 1936, and the area was developed as a ski resort. The area is blessed with a mild climate outside of the winter sports season, making it a popular year-round tourist destination for hiking and fishing. Ketchum, 0.6 km southwest, is where Ernest Hemingway died.

アメリカ合衆国アイダホ州中南部の観光保養地。ソートゥース山脈中，標高約1800mに位置する。ユニオン･パシフィック鉄道会社によって，1936年にサン･バレー･ロッジが建設され，スキー観光地としての開発が進んだ。ウィンター･スポーツ期以外は温和な気候に恵まれるため，ハイキング，釣りなどが楽しめ，年間を通じての観光地として有名。南西0.6kmにあるケチャムKetchumは，アーネスト･ヘミングウェーの没地。
