Sanjo [city] - Sanjo
A city in central Niigata Prefecture. It was incorporated as a city in 1934. The city center is close to the confluence of the Shinano River and its tributary, the Igarashi River, and has long developed as a river port and a commercial town with a thriving clothing manufacturing and trading industry.
