Acid imide - Sanimide
It is often simply called imide. It is a compound in which two acyl groups RCO- are bonded to an imino group (NH), but it usually refers to a compound that is condensed with a dicarboxylic acid to form a ring structure. Examples include succinimide and phthalimide. (Figure)
