The last of the 30 Assyrian kings mentioned by the Roman historian Diodorus Siculus. He is said to have lived a more extravagant life than any of his predecessors, but is probably a mixture of three historical figures: King Ashurbanipal (ruled 669-630 BCE) and his brother Shamash-shum-ukin (ruled 668-648 BCE), a fiefdom of Babylon.
