A town in Haga County in the southeastern part of Tochigi Prefecture. It occupies the basin of the midstream Naka River and its tributary, the Saka River, and is rich in forests. The town center is the terminus of the Moka Railway, and was a castle town from the Middle Ages to the early modern period. Rice, konjac, and shiitake mushroom cultivation are thriving.
