Also, a mountain. ※Senzai (1187) Summer, 195 "In May, the fire lit on Sayama Peak looks like a star among the clouds (Fujiwara Akiki)" [2][1] The name of Sayama City, Osaka Prefecture. In the center of the city, there is Sayama Pond, one of the oldest reservoirs in Japan. (Wamyosho, 20 volumes (around 934)) [2] The name of a place in southern Saitama Prefecture. Located along the Irumagawa River, it developed as a ferry terminal on the Kamakura Kaido road. Currently a residential and industrial city. Also known as a producer of Sayama tea and vegetables. Incorporated as a city in 1954 ( Showa 29 ).

[1] 〘名〙 (「さ」は接頭語) 小さい山。小山。また、山。※千載（1187）夏・一九五「五月やみさやまの峯にともす火は雲の絶間の星かとぞ見る〈藤原顕季〉」[2][一] 大阪府大阪狭山市の地名。市の中心部で、日本最古の溜池の一つとされる狭山池がある。〔二十巻本和名抄（934頃）〕[二] 埼玉県南部の地名。入間川に沿い、鎌倉街道の渡船場として発展。現在は住宅・工業都市。狭山茶、野菜の産地としても知られる。昭和二九年（一九五四）市制。
