Aleutian low pressure system

Japanese: アリューシャン低気圧 - アリューシャンていきあつ（英語表記）Aleutian low

A type of low pressure system in the subpolar low pressure zone of the Northern Hemisphere that has its center near the Aleutian Islands. It is most developed in winter, covering western Alaska and the Kamchatka Peninsula. However, it almost disappears in summer. It is closely related to the weather in northern North America, bringing southerly winds to the Pacific coast of North America in winter. Furthermore, together with the Icelandic low, its rise and fall affects the weather in the entire Northern Hemisphere.

北半球の亜寒帯低圧帯のうちアリューシャン列島付近に中心をもつ発達した低気圧。冬季に最も発達し，アラスカ西部，カムチャツカ半島を覆う。しかし夏季にはほとんど消滅してしまう。北アメリカ大陸北部の天候と密接な関係をもち，冬季北アメリカ大陸の太平洋岸に南寄りの風をもたらす。さらにアイスランド低気圧とともに，その消長は北半球全体の天候をも左右する。
