A legal book from the Kamakura and Muromachi periods. The editor is unknown. It is thought to have been compiled towards the end of the Kyoroku era (1528-32) by someone associated with the Samurai-dokoro of the Muromachi shogunate. It begins with the Samurai-dokoro Satta-hen, a section of the Military Government Manual, followed by additional laws relating to the Samurai-dokoro inspection and disciplinary procedures (67 additional articles to the Kamakura shogunate, 21 additional articles to the Muromachi shogunate, a total of 88 articles). All of the articles relating to the Samurai-dokoro have been excerpted from existing books, and as the originals are mostly still extant, this book is useful when editing those books. Included in Gunsho Ruiju. [Goto Norihiko] Source: Heibonsha World Encyclopedia, 2nd Edition Information |
