A form of chigyo (landholding) in the Edo period. It is also called bunkyu, bungo, aichi, and iriai chigyo. It is the opposite of ichien shoryō (landholding) and ichien chigyo (landholding), and refers to a chigyo or land in which one village is divided and controlled by multiple feudal lords. It was called nikyu, sankyu, or yonkyu depending on the number of feudal lords. Since the Tokugawa clan entered the Kanto region in 1590 (Tensho 18), the principle of allocating land to hatamoto (directors of the Shogunate), feudal domain, and hatamoto domain in Shimotsuke Province (Tochigi Prefecture) is that one village has 20 kyu. In addition, the principle of allocating land to the feudal domain vassals and the noble domain is that the Owari village in Bizen Province (Okayama Prefecture) in the Okayama domain is divided into 26 kyu, and the Kisshoin village in Yamashiro Province (Kyoto Prefecture) in the noble domain is divided into 64 kyu.
