Arifuku [Hot Spring] - Arifuku

Japanese: 有福[温泉] - ありふく

Located in the western part of Gotsu City, Shimane Prefecture, this is a representative hot spring in the Iwami region, which has long been a therapeutic hot spring resort. It is said to have been discovered by the hermit Hodo in the 7th century, and in the 17th century, it was given the task of providing public baths. The spring is a simple spring that springs from a cleft in the green rock. The temperature is 40-47°C. There are three public baths, and the townscape is unique, with inns lined up on both sides of the stone steps. It is accessible by bus from Hamada Station or Tsunozu Station on the San-in Main Line.
