al-Yaman (English spelling) alYaman

…Located at the southwestern tip of the Arabian Peninsula, it is called al-Yaman in Arabic. It was divided into the Arab Republic of Yemen (North Yemen) and the People's Democratic Republic of Yemen (South Yemen), but in May 1990, the two nations were unified to form the Republic of Yemen.
